Manchester College is seeking an experienced Hospitality & Catering Lecturer to join the team on a temporary basis to deliver engaging and high-quality teaching to Level 1 and Level 2 learners. This role will involve delivering both practical kitchen-based sessions and classroom theory lessons, supporting learners to develop industry knowledge, technical skills, and confidence within hospitality and catering.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging practical and theory-based Hospitality & Catering lessons to Level 1 and Level 2 learners
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, and assessment activities in line with curriculum requirements
- Support learner progress, achievement, and engagement within the classroom and practical environments
- Assess learner work and provide constructive feedback in line with awarding body standards
- Maintain accurate learner records, attendance, and progress tracking
- Promote safe working practices within kitchen and practical learning environments
- Create an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students
- Work collaboratively with curriculum and support staff to ensure positive learner outcomes
- Adhere to college policies relating to safeguarding, equality, health & safety, and behaviour management
Essential Requirements
- Relevant FE teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed, or QTS
- Minimum 6 months’ teaching experience 16-18 year olds in a similar Hospitality & Catering teaching role within the UK
- Experience teaching Hospitality & Catering within Further Education or a similar educational setting
- Ability to deliver both practical and classroom-based learning
- Experience teaching Level 1 and/or Level 2 Hospitality & Catering learners
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Good organisational and administrative skills
Compliance Requirements
- Applicants must have: An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
