Harrow College is seeking an experienced and industry-qualified Electrical Installation Lecturer to deliver high-quality teaching across Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 Electrical Installation programmes, including T Levels. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled electrical professional or experienced FE lecturer to join a supportive and forward-thinking college environment, helping learners develop the technical knowledge and practical competence required for successful careers in the electrical industry.
Contract Details
- Pay: £30 per hour PAYE or £40 per hour self-employed
- Hours: 37 hours per week
- Location: Harrow College
- Start: Immediate availability preferred
- Break: Opportunity to work until mid-July, with return in August for the right candidate

Role Overview
You will deliver engaging and industry-relevant teaching across electrical installation qualifications, supporting learners at Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3, including T Levels. The role combines practical workshop delivery and classroom-based theory, ensuring learners gain both technical competence and a strong understanding of current industry standards, safety regulations and best practice. You will play a key role in preparing learners for progression into apprenticeships, employment and higher education pathways.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver teaching across Level 1, Level 2 and Level 3 Electrical Installation courses, including T Levels
- Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality lessons and schemes of work
- Teach practical workshop sessions and theoretical electrical principles
- Support learners in developing industry-standard practical skills
- Prepare learners for assessments, exams and progression routes
- Monitor learner progress and provide feedback and support
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessment and achievement
- Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement
- Promote health and safety standards in all workshop environments
- Support learner progression into industry or further study
Essential Requirements
- Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification (City & Guilds, EAL or equivalent NVQ Diploma)
- AM2 (Achievement Measurement 2) or equivalent proof of occupational competence
- City & Guilds 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) qualification
- Strong industry experience in electrical installation
- Solid understanding of current electrical standards and regulations
- Ability to deliver both practical and theoretical training effectively
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
Desirable Requirements
- Teaching qualification (Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training or equivalent)
- CAVA (Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement)
- Inspection and Testing qualification (e.g. City & Guilds 2391)
- Previous experience teaching or training in FE or apprenticeship settings
- Minimum 5 years teaching experience in a relevant environment
