We are seeking a committed Skills Coach / Lecturer to join the Apprenticeships team at London South East Colleges- Bromley Campus. You will deliver teaching, coaching and assessment to apprentices on a range of standards, with a focus on the Operations Manager Level 5 Apprenticeship.
You will be responsible for supporting apprentices from induction through to successful Gateway and End Point Assessment, ensuring timely achievement through high-quality coaching, effective progress monitoring and strong employer engagement.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver teaching, coaching and assessment in line with apprenticeship standards
- Manage a caseload of apprentices to ensure timely progress and achievement
- Conduct initial assessment and develop individual learning plans
- Carry out regular progress reviews with apprentices and employers
- Support apprentices with off-the-job training planning and workplace learning
- Prepare learners for EPA, including portfolio development and professional discussion
- Maintain accurate records using e-portfolio systems (e.g. Smart Assessor)
- Work closely with employers to support workplace delivery and engagement
- Provide targeted intervention to support learner progress and retention
- Contribute to quality assurance, standardisation and continuous improvement activity
- Ensure compliance with funding, safeguarding, equality and quality requirements
You will be an effective coach and communicator with experience in operational management or vocational delivery, and a strong commitment to learner success.
Essential- Level 3 teaching qualification (or working towards)
- Assessor qualification (or working towards)
- Level 2 English and Maths (or equivalent)
- Relevant operational management or industry experience
- Experience supporting learners or apprentices to achieve
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to manage a caseload and meet performance targets
- Experience delivering apprenticeship programmes
- Level 5 qualification in Operational Management
- Experience with EPA, gateway and apprenticeship standards
- Experience using e-portfolio systems
- Coaching or mentoring qualification
