Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Summary: The Full Time Family Support Worker provides short-term, outcome-focused assistance to families experiencing significant challenges with the parent-child or parent-adolescent relationship. This new program will have you working both one-on-one with families and with the Family Support Worker team to collaborate. Crisis interventions include conflict resolution, immediate modeling of parent techniques, facilitation of meetings, supervised access referrals, and additional work alongside the child. This team works closely together to help reach the best outcomes for both the child and the family.

Proof of full vaccination may be required.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or a related discipline is required.
  • One (1) year of recent related work experience with families is preferred.
  • Training in working with individuals and/or families in crisis is preferred.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid BC driver's license.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to work with complex trauma, Autism, FASD, ODD or other neurobiological conditions is beneficial.
  • Clear Criminal Record Check (agency conducted, expenses covered).
  • Effective written and verbal communication.
