The Role
We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Fire Door Carpenter to join our team based in Worcester, covering the Midlands region. This is a key role supporting our commitment to safety, compliance and quality across a range of live and sensitive environments. You will play a vital part in delivering fire door installations, repairs and maintenance works, primarily within healthcare and secure environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out fire door installations, repairs and inspections in line with current regulations and best practice
- Complete general carpentry and building maintenance works as required
- Deliver fire door replacement and maintenance works on an ongoing contract at Gloucester Hospital
- Support projects across the Midlands, including fire door installations and remedial works
- Work on military bases and government sites, adhering to strict security and compliance requirements
- Ensure all works are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard
- Communicate effectively with clients, site teams and management
About You
To succeed as a Fire Door Carpenter, you will bring strong carpentry skills and a clear commitment to quality and compliance. You will have:
- willingness to travel across the Midlands
- own tools suitable for fire door and carpentry works
- valid CSCS Card
- NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry (or equivalent)
- Fire Door Installation and/or Maintenance qualification (or working towards)
- Full UK Driving Licence
- ability to successfully complete background checks for security clearance
Training & Development
Following the successful completion of a three-month probation period, Axis CLC will provide further training and development to support your career progression. This will include:
- SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme)
- NVQ training in Fire Door Installation
- ROSPA Fire Door Inspection training
