As a Manufacturing and Engineering Apprentice you will be supporting the manufacturing of printed circuit board assembly and move around the company every 6 months, working in various areas of the business. You will be soldering, preparing components, testing and much more.
The successful apprentice will be following assembly instructions and solder components to PCBA’s using a soldering iron, form components to required pitches (sizes) as per assembly instructions. You will be testing PCBA’s to ensure functionality and use specialised machines to add solder paste and then components to PCBA’s.
You will help create assembly instructions from customer data and build kits ready for production from a list generated by engineers and use controlled tooling to fit hardware/adhesives to PCBA’s and inspect components/hardware to ensure quality is reached before they are used in production.
Training to be provided:
- Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence)
- Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence) – Technical Support
- Level 3 Diploma or Extended Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge)
Qualifications Required:
To be considered for this role you will ideally need to have GCSE grades 9-4 (A*- C) in English and maths.

Future Prospects:
