We are looking for a permanent full‑time Product Manager – Roof Ventilation and Vacuum to join our team in Barrie, ON.

Responsibilities

  • Lead product strategy: develop and execute comprehensive product line strategies aligned with our 5‑year growth plan and product roadmap.
  • Report to the Director of Innovation and Product Management.
  • Drive lifecycle management: oversee the full product lifecycle, collaborating with Sales, R&D, Marketing, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply Chain to resolve product challenges.
  • Champion innovation: manage product line extensions and new product projects using our established innovation process, ensuring governance and opportunity assessments are met.
  • Provide technical expertise: deliver product training and ensure compliance with codes and standards across North America.
  • Support marketing initiatives: partner with Marketing to create compelling content and campaigns that expand market reach and strengthen brand presence.
  • Represent Canplas: attend national trade shows to enhance brand visibility, gather market intelligence, and engage with customers.
  • Voice of Customer: collaborate with Customer Insight and Innovation teams to capture customer feedback and identify growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in business or marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of product management experience, ideally within building materials, manufacturing or related industries.
  • Strategic & Analytical Skills: Demonstrated ability to develop and execute product strategies, conduct market analysis, and manage full product lifecycles.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with building codes, standards, and compliance requirements across North America.
  • Project Leadership: Proven success in leading cross‑functional projects and driving new product development initiatives.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Strong interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills to engage effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP certification considered an asset.
  • Experience with innovation frameworks and governance processes (Stage Gate).
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and product management software.
  • Bilingual (English/French) considered an asset.
  • Previous experience representing a company at trade shows or industry events.
