Our Planned Works & Projects team is growing, and we're looking for an experienced Pre-Construction Manager to join us in Stratford, East London. This is a key role, responsible for managing the pre-construction phase of planned refurbishment, elevational remediation and capital works projects, ensuring schemes are fully developed, accurately costed and ready for successful delivery.

What you'll be doing:

  • Work closely with operational, commercial and bid teams to develop projects from initial enquiry through to mobilisation.
  • Managing the pre-construction process across planned works and refurbishment projects.
  • Reviewing specifications, drawings and tender documentation.
  • Coordinating surveys, site investigations and technical assessments.
  • Developing programmes, methodologies and construction proposals.
  • Working alongside estimating, commercial and operational teams to produce robust submissions.
  • Identifying project risks and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Supporting value engineering and buildability reviews.
  • Liaising with clients, consultants and supply chain partners throughout the pre-construction phase.
  • Ensuring projects are fully prepared for a successful handover into delivery.

About you:

  • You'll have previous experience in a pre-construction, project management or operational role within construction, refurbishment or social housing.
  • Experience delivering planned works or refurbishment projects.
  • Strong technical understanding of construction methods and sequencing.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to identify risks and opportunities.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to work across multiple business functions.

Desirable:

  • HNC/HND or Degree in Construction, Building, Surveying or a related discipline.
  • Experience working within social housing or public sector frameworks.
  • Knowledge of decarbonisation, retrofit or planned maintenance programmes.
