The Gas Installer is responsible for carrying out gas installation works in occupied and void properties, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required standard.

This role delivers a responsive, resident-focused service across domestic gas installations, replacements, and associated works, maintaining accurate records and complying with all relevant gas safety requirements.

  • What you’ll do
  • Install, replace and commission domestic gas appliances and associated pipework in line with job instructions and specifications.
  • Carry out works in occupied and void properties, ensuring minimal disruption to residents and customers.
  • Diagnose faults, complete remedial works and report any additional repairs or safety concerns.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and within agreed timescales.
  • Use handheld devices and job management systems to record work accurately and update job status.
  • Work in accordance with gas safety legislation, company procedures and manufacturer instructions.
  • Complete all required certification, test results and job documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Maintain safe working practices, including appropriate use of PPE, tools and equipment.
  • Report unsafe conditions, defects and any issues affecting compliance or service delivery.
  • Communicate clearly with residents, colleagues, supervisors and planners throughout the job cycle.
  • Provide a professional service and keep customers informed of progress and any access requirements.

About You

  • ACS qualifications required.
  • CCN1 / CPA1 / CENWAT / HTR1 / CKR1 / MET1/ G3
  • Experience in domestic gas installation and associated remedial works is required.
  • Experience working in social housing, repairs or maintenance environments is desirable.
  • Strong practical gas installation and fault-finding skills.
  • Knowledge of domestic gas installation standards, safe isolation and testing procedures.
  • Knowledge of gas safety legislation, certification requirements and working in occupied properties.
  • Understanding of health and safety requirements and safe systems of work.
  • Accurate record-keeping skills and experience using handheld technology.
