The Role We are looking to recruit an experienced Planned Works Surveyor. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and customer-focused professional to play a key role in delivering a diverse range of planned investment and refurbishment programmes, including kitchens, bathrooms, roofing, windows, doors, external works, and energy efficiency projects. Working closely with residents, contractors, and internal stakeholders, you will be responsible for surveying properties, preparing specifications, and ensuring works are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The successful candidate will have a strong technical understanding of residential construction and experience surveying for planned maintenance works within a social housing environment. What You’ll Do * Undertake property surveys and inspections across planned maintenance programmes including kitchen and bathroom replacements, roofing, windows and doors, external decorations, cyclical maintenance, and energy efficiency works. * Produce detailed specifications, scopes of work. * Carry out pre-start, progress, and post-completion inspections to monitor quality and contractor performance. * Identify building defects and recommend appropriate remedial solutions in line with current regulations and best practice. * Ensure all planned works comply with health and safety legislation, building regulations, CDM requirements, and company policies. * Investigate and resolve technical issues, complaints, and contractor queries throughout the project lifecycle. * Maintain accurate records, survey reports, project documentation, and compliance information using internal systems. * Provide technical advice and support to operational teams and senior management on repairs, maintenance, and asset investment matters. * Ensure safeguarding concerns, property risks, and compliance issues identified during inspections are appropriately reported and managed. About You * Experience working as a Surveyor within social housing, planned works, asset management, or property services. * Strong knowledge of building construction, refurbishment, and planned maintenance programmes. * Experience managing contractors and delivering investment works within occupied residential properties. * Knowledge of building regulations, CDM regulations, and health and safety legislation. * Excellent resident engagement skills. * Full UK driving licence.
