CLC, part of Axis CLC, is a national maintenance and refurbishment provider supporting clients across the healthcare, defence, leisure, heritage, commercial and education sectors. We are looking for an experienced Painter to join our team delivering planned and reactive maintenance works across MOD sites throughout the Catterick region. Working within secure defence environments, you will carry out a range of internal and external painting and decorating tasks, ensuring military accommodation and operational buildings are maintained to the highest standards while meeting quality, safety and compliance requirements.
What You'll Deliver
- Carry out internal and external painting and decorating works across refurbishment, maintenance and fit-out projects.
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling and priming prior to decoration.
- Apply paint, emulsion, gloss, stains and other decorative finishes to walls, ceilings, woodwork and metal surfaces.
- Carry out wallpaper removal and other associated decorating repairs where required.
- Ensure all works are completed to a high standard, on time and in line with health and safety requirements.
- Work independently or as part of a team while maintaining effective communication with supervisors, clients and other trades.
- Maintain tools, equipment and a clean, safe working environment.
- Deliver excellent customer service while working within occupied and secure MOD properties.
About You
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Painting & Decorating (or equivalent), or time-served experience.
- Proven experience in refurbishment, maintenance or responsive repairs (new build experience alone is not sufficient).
- Competent in all aspects of painting and decorating, including preparation and finishing.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Able to obtain and maintain the required Ministry of Defence security clearance.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Able to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
- Good understanding of health and safety procedures.
Physical Requirements
This role involves practical, hands-on work and requires a good level of mobility and manual dexterity. You may at times be required to work at height, in confined spaces or on uneven ground, and to use a range of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
