The Role
To support our continued growth, we are currently seeking a Fire Stopper to join our team. We are looking for someone who demonstrates a polite, friendly and flexible can-do attitude, is a strong team player, and has a genuine interest in fire safety. The successful candidate will have experience in passive fire protection and the ability to deliver high-quality fire stopping works in line with industry regulations and company standards.
Responsibilities
- Carry out all aspects of fire stopping installations and remedial works
- Install and maintain passive fire protection systems, including fire batting, fire mastic, fire collars, fire wraps and fire-rated sealants
- Ensure all works are completed in accordance with relevant fire safety regulations and manufacturer specifications
- Conduct site inspections to identify fire stopping requirements and defects
- Accurately record completed works using company systems and software
- Work independently and as part of a team across a variety of sites
- Liaise with site management and supervisors to ensure works are delivered safely and efficiently
- Maintain high standards of health and safety at all times
- Ensure all documentation and photographic evidence is completed and submitted as required
About You
- Proven experience working as a Fire Stopper within occupied and unoccupied properties
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in Passive Fire Protection, Construction or a relevant trade (desirable)
- FIRAS, FPA, IFC or equivalent passive fire protection accreditation (desirable)
- CSCS Card
- Experience working within social housing, healthcare, education, commercial or public sector environments
- Strong understanding of passive fire protection systems and current fire safety standards
- Knowledge and awareness of health and safety requirements on site
- Ability to interpret specifications and scope of works
- Excellent attention to detail and quality standards
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work on your own initiative
