We are recruiting several experienced and versatile Groundwork Multi Traders to support our long-term partnership with Southern Housing, one of the UK's largest and most respected housing providers, covering Hastings and the surrounding areas. In this role, you will help deliver reactive repairs and maintenance across thousands of homes, carrying out a range of external works including brickwork, concreting and fencing repairs. To ensure a consistent service throughout the year, you will also be expected to undertake internal maintenance and multi-trade repairs when weather conditions impact external works. You will be supported by modern digital systems that keep work flowing efficiently and give you everything you need to deliver a first-class service.
Responsibilities
- Carry out brickwork repairs and minor rebuilding works to a high standard
- Undertake concreting, path repairs, slab laying and other groundwork activities
- Install, repair and maintain fencing, gates and other external structures
- Complete external maintenance works to communal and residential properties
- Undertake internal multi-trade repairs including basic carpentry, plumbing and patch plastering where required
- Support with a broad range of general property maintenance duties
- Work effectively both independently and within a team
- Ensure all work meets safety, quality and customer service standards
About You
- Strong experience in groundwork and external maintenance works
- Skilled in brickwork, concreting, paving and fencing repairs
- Ability to undertake internal multi-trade repairs when required
- Working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing and general building maintenance
- Ability to diagnose faults and deliver effective repairs
- Good problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail
- Experience working in tenanted properties
- Familiar with PDA usage
- Additional trade qualifications advantageous
- NVQ or City & Guilds Level 2 minimum in a relevant construction trade
- Clean, valid UK driving licence
- DBS check (or willingness to undertake)
- Eligible to work in the UK (proof required)
- Professional, customer-focused presentation
