Role Purpose
The Gas Compliance Supervisor will ensure high standards of gas safety, technical compliance, and quality of workmanship across the FDIS RAMS contract. This role provides direct coaching, auditing, and technical support to engineers operating in the Lincoln and Cottesmore areas, with the possibility of additional oversight of the York area as the contract expands. The successful candidate will maintain robust compliance processes, ensure statutory documentation is correct and up to date, and support the operational team in delivering a safe, efficient service.
What You’ll Deliver
- Engineer Auditing & Coaching
- Conduct regular on-site audits of gas engineers to ensure all work meets compliance and quality standards.
- Ensure each engineer receives an audit or coaching visit a minimum of once every two weeks.
- Provide technical coaching and mentoring to improve performance, safety, and right-first-time outcomes.
- Identify skills gaps or training needs and escalate where required.
- TechSee Triage Support
- Participate in TechSee triage sessions, supporting engineers remotely to diagnose and resolve issues.
- Offer real-time technical advice to reduce repeat visits and improve customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate records of triage interactions and escalations.
- Compliance & Operational Support
- Carry out CP12 compliance checks within the MRI system to ensure documentation accuracy and completeness.
- Update and maintain the compliance tracker, ensuring all gas safety certificates and audit records are current.
- Maintain and update the engineer qualification tracker, ensuring all engineers hold valid and in-date competencies.
- Oversee the equipment calibration tracker, ensuring all test and measurement equipment is up to date and compliant.
- Support the operational delivery team with planning, scheduling, and general contract compliance activities.
- Assist in root cause analysis for compliance failures or customer complaints.
About You
- Technical Requirements
- Fully qualified Gas Engineer (ACS or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of domestic gas regulations, compliance standards, and best practice.
- Experience in gas auditing or supervisory/lead engineer responsibilities (desirable).
- Confident using digital tools such as MRI, compliance trackers, and TechSee.
- Additional Skills
- Excellent communication, coaching, and mentoring skills.
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise workload across multiple regions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to compliance accuracy.
- Proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
Additional Information
- The role may expand geographically to include the York area as contract requirements evolve.
