This is a dedicated fire door surveyor role supporting a long-term contract with Bradford Teaching Hospitals. As a fire door surveyor, you will carry out detailed fire door surveys across six hospital sites as part of a rolling compliance programme. No installation work is required; the focus is purely on inspection, assessment, and reporting to ensure the estate remains compliant with fire safety regulations.

About You

As an experienced fire door surveyor, you will possess a blend of strong technical knowledge, regulatory understanding, and practical inspection skills with the ability to assess fire doors against UK standards, identify defects, and produce compliant documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough surveys of existing fire doors, assessing condition, compliance, and performance.
  • Record non-compliances, wear, damage, and any issues affecting certification or functionality.
  • Produce accurate, structured survey reports for the estates and compliance teams.
  • Work through a planned, ongoing inspection schedule across all BTH sites.
  • Liaise with hospital estates staff, contract managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure all surveys align with current fire safety legislation and industry standards.

Desirable Experience

  • Site supervision background - Advantageous but not essential; helpful for coordinating access and working on large estates.
  • Experience working in hospitals, public buildings, or other live operational environments.
  • Strong understanding of fire safety compliance frameworks and certification requirements.
