As a Fire Door Installer Surveyor, you will support a long-term contract across Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This is a permanent, site-based role covering six hospital locations across the Bradford Teaching Hospitals portfolio, focused on the surveying, installation and compliance management of fire doors as part of an ongoing fire safety and maintenance programme. You will work independently across live healthcare environments, ensuring all works are completed safely, professionally and in line with current fire safety regulations. Company van and fuel card provided.
What You’ll Deliver
- Carry out detailed fire door surveys across six hospital sites, identifying defects, compliance issues and remedial requirements.
- Install, replace and maintain fire doors in line with current fire safety legislation, manufacturer specifications and industry best practice.
- Produce accurate survey reports, installation records and compliance documentation.
- Deliver works across a structured rolling programme supporting ongoing compliance and maintenance requirements.
- Communicate professionally with hospital estates teams, contract managers and site stakeholders.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety and regulatory compliance at all times.
- Coordinate daily activities effectively across multiple live healthcare environments.
- Ensure all works are completed with minimal disruption to hospital operations.
- Support compliance audits and provide technical information where required.
- Maintain company vehicle, tools and equipment safely and professionally.
About You
- You will be an experienced Fire Door Installer Surveyor with proven fire door installation and surveying experience within live operational environments.
- You will be confident working independently across multiple sites, producing accurate compliance documentation and maintaining high standards of workmanship within healthcare or public sector environments.
- Proven experience installing and surveying fire doors.
- Strong understanding of fire safety regulations, standards and compliance frameworks.
- Experience working within hospitals, public buildings or other sensitive live environments preferred.
- Ability to work independently across multiple sites and manage workload effectively.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience supervising small teams or subcontractors would be advantageous.
- Full UK driving licence essential.
- Good reporting, documentation and organisational skills.
- Reliable, professional and committed to high-quality compliance work.
Physical Requirements
This role involves practical, hands-on work and requires a good level of mobility and manual dexterity. You may at times be required to work at height, in confined spaces or on uneven ground, and to use a range of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
