The Role

We’re looking for a Painter & Decorator to join our team delivering works across the Southampton area, covering social housing major repairs and void properties. This is a decorating-led role focused on refurbishment and property improvement works, ensuring homes are maintained and presented to a high standard. Working as part of a wider team, you’ll play a key role in delivering projects safely, efficiently and to specification.

What You’ll Do

  • Carry out all aspects of internal and external painting and decorating works
  • Prepare surfaces including sanding, filling, stripping and making good prior to decoration
  • Complete decorating works within void properties to ensure homes are ready for occupation
  • Support major repairs projects, delivering high-quality finishes across residential properties
  • Carry out wallpaper removal and application where required
  • Work collaboratively with site teams to deliver programmes on time and to quality standards
  • Follow health and safety procedures and complete risk assessments on all works

About You

You’re an experienced Painter & Decorator with a strong eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality finishes. You have experience working within occupied and void social housing properties and take pride in completing work to a professional standard.

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 2 in Painting & Decorating (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience working within social housing, voids, planned works or major repairs environments
  • Strong preparation and finishing skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Strong understanding of health & safety
