We are looking to recruit an experienced Financial Controller for a 9-month fixed term contract. Reporting directly to the Finance Director the Financial Controller will be responsible for building, upholding and continuously improving in-house financial management systems, achieving and maintaining the highest level of financial integrity and good governance.
What you’ll do
- Help lead the finance team through a period of change as the business transitions from Microsoft Dynamics Business Central to Finance and Operations
- Lead any other changes to systems and processes.
- Help develop and support the finance team.
- Working with the finance team, improve the month‑end close and reporting process.
- Prepare weekly cash flow projections to enable appropriate treasury management across the Axis CLC group.
- Ensure the balance sheet is controlled through the monthly balance sheet reconciliation process, implementing improvements where necessary.
- Work closely with the wider Axis CLC finance team, enhance the reporting process to improve the provision of financial information.
- Develop relationships and collaboration outside of finance with other departments within the business.
- Develop budgets and financial forecasts for the business.
- Lead the financial audit process.
- Support the finance director in driving financial performance through value‑added insight in reporting and analysis through the provision of value‑add, quality financial and non‑financial information.
About you
- ACA or ACCA qualified, along with sufficient PQE.
- At least 5 years’ experience as a financial controller and/or senior financial management.
- Experience of building and developing accounting systems, teams and infrastructure.
- Implementing process improvements.
- Leadership and management experience.
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise/delegate.
- Ability to work to very tight deadlines, while maintaining close attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
