Role Overview

We are recruiting for an experienced Plumber to support our long-term partnership with Amey, delivering planned repairs and maintenance to family housing across military facilities in Wyton, Henlow and the A1 corridor.

In this role, you will carry out plumbing and associated repair works to ensure homes remain safe, fully functional and well maintained to a high standard, including void and response tasks.

  • What You'll Deliver
  • Carry out a range of plumbing repairs, maintenance and minor installations.
  • Diagnose faults and complete effective and timely plumbing repairs.
  • Repair and replace taps, sinks, toilets, pipework and associated fittings.
  • Support with general property maintenance tasks as required.
  • Complete work safely, efficiently and in line with quality standards.
  • Work independently and collaboratively as part of the wider team.
  • Ensure all work complies with health and safety, quality and customer service standards.
  • Use PDA/mobile technology to manage and update work orders accurately.
  • Carry out void property works to ensure homes are ready for re-let.
  • Respond to day-to-day reactive maintenance and emergency repair tasks.

About You

  • Experience in a plumbing role within social housing, domestic maintenance or property repairs.
  • Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, fault-finding and repair techniques.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality workmanship with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience working in occupied and void properties.
  • Confident using PDA/mobile technology.
  • NVQ or City & Guilds Level 2 in Plumbing (or equivalent) is desirable.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Able to obtain or already hold DBS and SC clearance.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Professional, reliable and customer-focused approach.

Physical Requirements

This role involves practical, hands-on work and requires a good level of mobility and manual dexterity.

You may at times be required to work at height, in confined spaces or on uneven ground, and to use a range of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
