Role Overview
We are recruiting for an experienced Plasterer to support our long-term partnership with Amey, delivering planned repairs and maintenance to family housing across military facilities in Cottesmore, covering Wyton, Henlow and the A1 corridor.
In this role, you will carry out plastering and associated repair works to ensure homes remain safe, well maintained and finished to a high standard, including void and response tasks.
- What You'll Deliver
- Carry out a range of plastering repairs, including patch repairs, skimming and full room plastering where required.
- Prepare surfaces by removing damaged plaster and ensuring backgrounds are suitable for new finishes.
- Apply bonding coats, finishing plaster and other materials to achieve a high-quality finish.
- Undertake minor making-good works following maintenance and repair activities.
- Complete work safely, efficiently and in line with quality standards.
- Work independently and collaboratively as part of the wider team.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety, quality and customer service standards.
- Use PDA/mobile technology to manage and update work orders accurately.
- Carry out void works to prepare properties for re-let.
- Attend and complete responsive repair (response) tasks across occupied properties.
About You
- Experience in a plastering role within social housing, domestic maintenance or property repairs.
- Strong knowledge of plastering techniques, materials and surface preparation.
- Ability to deliver high-quality workmanship with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience working in occupied and void properties.
- Confident using PDA/mobile technology.
- NVQ or City & Guilds Level 2 in Plastering (or equivalent) is desirable.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Able to obtain or already hold DBS and SC clearance.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Professional, reliable and customer-focused approach.
Physical Requirements
This role involves practical, hands-on work and requires a good level of mobility and manual dexterity.
You may at times be required to work at height, in confined spaces or on uneven ground, and to use a range of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
