Role Overview

This role supports our long-term partnerships delivering responsive and planned maintenance works across residential properties in Oldbury and surrounding areas. We work to ensure homes are safe, functional and maintained to a high standard, using modern systems to support efficient service delivery.

The Role

We’re looking for a skilled and reliable Multi-Trade Operative with strong experience in carpentry and plumbing to join our team. You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality repairs and maintenance across occupied and void properties. This is a hands-on role requiring strong technical ability across multiple trades, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering excellent workmanship for residents and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out a wide range of multi-trade repairs with a strong focus on carpentry and plumbing.
  • Undertake 1st and 2nd fix carpentry works including doors, frames, skirting, architraves and basic structural repairs.
  • Carry out plumbing repairs such as fixing leaks, replacing taps, toilets, traps and minor pipework.
  • Diagnose faults and complete effective, long-lasting repairs in occupied and void properties.
  • Ensure all works are completed to a high standard with a clean and professional finish.
  • Use mobile technology to record job progress, materials used and completed works.
  • Work closely with supervisors, planners and support teams to ensure efficient delivery.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with residents, ensuring minimal disruption.
  • Maintain compliance with Health & Safety regulations and company procedures.
  • Ensure company vehicles, tools and equipment are maintained and used safely.
  • Work across occupied homes and void properties, with flexibility to support business needs.

About You

You are a skilled multi-trade professional with strong carpentry and plumbing experience. You take pride in delivering high-quality workmanship, are confident working independently, and always maintain a professional and respectful approach in residents’ homes.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Multi-Trade Operative within social housing or domestic maintenance.
  • Strong carpentry skills (1st and 2nd fix essential).
  • Strong basic plumbing skills including repairs and replacements.
  • Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality finishes.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Own tools relevant to carpentry and plumbing.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Understanding of Health & Safety practices and PPE requirements.
  • Willingness to cover Oldbury and surrounding contract areas as required.
