We are looking for a skilled and customer-focused Heating Engineer to join our team working across the Catterick area. This role will involve carrying out domestic gas servicing, repairs, maintenance and installations, alongside general plumbing works within occupied and void properties. Working across planned maintenance, responsive repairs and void programmes, you will ensure heating and plumbing systems are safe, compliant and operating efficiently. You will represent Axis CLC professionally at all times, delivering excellent customer service while maintaining the highest standards of workmanship, safety and compliance.

The successful candidate must hold current domestic gas qualifications and be confident undertaking both heating and plumbing repairs.

What You’ll Deliver

  • Carry out servicing, repairs and maintenance of domestic gas appliances, boilers and heating systems.
  • Complete plumbing repairs and installations within occupied and void properties.
  • Diagnose faults and deliver high-quality first-time fixes wherever possible.
  • Undertake gas safety inspections and ensure all work complies with Gas Safe and Health & Safety regulations.
  • Complete accurate job documentation and maintain excellent customer service standards.
  • Work closely with colleagues, supervisors and clients to deliver efficient, safe and compliant services.

About You

  • Experienced Domestic Gas Engineer with strong plumbing skills.
  • Current ACS qualifications including CCN1, CENWAT and CKR1 (HTR1 and G3 desirable).
  • Strong fault-finding, problem-solving and customer service skills.
  • Able to work independently and manage workloads effectively.
  • Competent using handheld devices for job management and reporting.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain SC and BPSS clearance.
  • Experience within MOD, public sector or social housing environments would be advantageous.

  • CCN1 – Core Domestic Gas Safety
  • CENWAT – Central Heating Boilers and Water Heaters
  • CKR1 – Domestic Cookers and Hobs
  • HTR1 – Gas Fires and Wall Heaters (Desirable)
  • G3 Unvented Hot Water (Desirable)

Physical Requirements

This role involves practical, hands‑on work and requires a good level of mobility and manual dexterity. You may at times be required to work at height, in confined spaces or on uneven ground, and to use a range of hand and power tools safely and effectively.

Additional Information

The successful candidate will ideally be available to start as soon as possible, subject to notice periods and successful completion of required security clearance processes. Due to MOD contract requirements, a confirmed start date cannot be guaranteed until all necessary vetting has been completed.
