The Role

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Document Controller to become an integral member of our established project delivery team, supporting the successful delivery of elevational remediation and refurbishment projects across a diverse portfolio of residential buildings.

The Document Controller will work closely with Project Managers, Design Managers, Commercial teams, Site Managers, and external consultants, you will be responsible for the effective management, control, and distribution of project documentation throughout the project lifecycle. You will ensure that all project information is accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with company procedures and client requirements.

What you Will Do

  • Manage the receipt, registration, distribution, filing, and archiving of all project documentation.
  • Maintain document control systems, ensuring all drawings, specifications, reports, RFIs, technical submissions, and correspondence are correctly logged and version controlled.
  • Coordinate the timely distribution of revised drawings and documentation to project teams, consultants, subcontractors, and clients.
  • Ensure all project documentation complies with company quality management systems and document control procedures.
  • Support the project team with the preparation and maintenance of project records, trackers, and document registers.
  • Monitor document approval workflows and follow up outstanding reviews and approvals.
  • Assist with compiling Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals, Health & Safety Files, and project handover documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records for Building Safety Act compliance, including the Golden Thread of Information where applicable.
  • Liaise with design teams, clients, and external consultants to ensure documentation is complete and current.
  • Provide administrative support to the project team as required.

About You

  • Previous experience as a Document Controller within the construction, refurbishment, or engineering sector.
  • Strong understanding of document control procedures and revision management.
  • Experience using Common Data Environment (CDE) platforms such as Asite, Viewpoint, Aconex, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar.
  • Excellent organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable

  • Experience working on façade, cladding remediation, fire safety, or building envelope projects.
  • Knowledge of the Building Safety Act and Golden Thread information requirements.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems.
  • Experience supporting project handovers and O&M documentation.
  • Professional, reliable, and committed to maintaining high standards of accuracy.
