We're looking to recruit an experienced Divisional Manager to lead a portfolio of contracts, providing strategic operational leadership and driving commercial performance across the division, based in Co Durham.
This is a senior leadership role with joint responsibility for divisional P&L performance, client relationships, operational excellence and business growth.
Working closely with the Divisional Director and Commercial Manager, you'll lead high-performing teams, develop long-term client partnerships and ensure contracts are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.
- What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading the operational and commercial performance of a portfolio of contracts.
- Taking joint responsibility for divisional P&L performance, financial forecasting and achieving business targets.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, framework partners and key stakeholders.
- Leading, coaching and developing Contracts Managers, Commercial Managers and wider operational teams.
- Ensuring contracts are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
- Driving continuous improvement, operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Supporting business development activities, tender submissions and work-winning opportunities.
- Identifying commercial risks and opportunities, working closely with commercial teams to maximise contract performance.
- Promoting a positive culture focused on accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- This role requires strong leadership, commercial awareness and the ability to build high-performing teams while developing long-term client relationships.
About You
- Proven experience in a senior operational leadership role within property maintenance, refurbishment, construction or compliance services.
- Experience managing multiple contracts with full operational and commercial accountability.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience managing budgets, forecasts and contract performance.
- Demonstrable experience leading, coaching and developing multidisciplinary operational teams.
- A proven track record of building strong client relationships and delivering high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Good understanding of contract delivery, health and safety, operational governance and performance management.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable
- Experience working within social housing, local authority or public sector frameworks.
- Knowledge of JCT, NEC or other standard forms of contract.
- Relevant construction or management qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent).
