The Role
We’re looking for Fire Door Installers and Fire Stopping Operatives to join our team delivering works across the Bath area, working on a long‑term framework contract across historical and traditional buildings. This is a fire safety‑led role focused on installation, maintenance and compliance works, where you will also carry out supporting carpentry and multi‑trade activities to ensure all works are completed to a high standard.
What You’ll Do
- Carry out fire door installation works including fitting complete door sets, frames and ironmongery
- Deliver fire door maintenance, adjustments and remedial works to ensure compliance
- Undertake fire stopping works across a range of properties
- Work across historical and traditional buildings, maintaining high standards of care and workmanship
- Conduct fire door inspections and record findings accurately
- Carry out supporting carpentry and multi‑trade works to support project completion, including:
- Basic carpentry repairs
- Making good and patch plastering
- Minor decorating works
- Work collaboratively with site teams to deliver programmes on time and to quality standards
- Follow health and safety procedures and complete risk assessments on all works
About You
You’re a skilled tradesperson with a strong background in fire door installation, fire stopping or carpentry, with experience working on refurbishment, compliance or maintenance projects. You’re confident supporting across multiple trades and take pride in delivering high‑quality, compliant work.
Requirements
- NVQ Level 2/3 or City & Guilds in Carpentry/Joinery or Fire Stopping (or equivalent experience)
- Experience in fire door installation, fire stopping or refurbishment works
- Strong carpentry and installation experience
- Multi‑trade capability (basic carpentry repairs, plastering, decorating)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Full UK driving licence
- Strong understanding of health & safety
