You will support the pricing of portfolio deals across the deal lifecycle, including preparing data, running models, and reviewing outputs to produce robust analysis for pricing decisions. You will work closely with underwriters, senior actuarial colleagues, and cross‑functional teams to shape pricing analysis, evaluate deal structures, and build credibility with stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Support the pricing of portfolio deals across the deal lifecycle, including preparing data, running models, and reviewing outputs.
- Work closely with underwriters and senior actuarial colleagues to understand risk profiles and shape pricing analysis, supporting evaluation of deal structures (including limits and reinsurance) and highlighting key sensitivities.
- Build credibility with stakeholders through delivery and insight, collaborating across reserving, capital modelling, and finance to ensure aligned assumptions and a consistent view of performance.
- Deliver regular portfolio and product monitoring analysis, contributing to portfolio insights through assessment of rate change, exposure movements, loss experience, and trends, and supporting understanding of pricing adequacy and emerging performance drivers.
- Maintain and enhance benchmarks and portfolio metrics, working closely with Product Pricing and Analytics teams, and support ongoing development of pricing tools, models, data flows, and analytical capabilities.
- Contribute to the development of expected loss ratios and key pricing assumptions for business planning, considering business mix, market conditions, and observed trends.
- Participate in project workstreams and cross‑functional initiatives, providing actuarial input and supporting delivery of business objectives.
- Provide informal guidance and support to junior analysts, contributing to a high‑performing team environment.
Must Have
- Progress towards actuarial qualification (or equivalent experience).
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate technical analysis clearly to a range of stakeholders.
- Proactive, self‑directed approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Preferred
- Exposure to London Market business or portfolio/structured deals.
- Experience working with pricing models, portfolio analytics, or business planning.
- Strong Excel and SQL skills; VBA, R, or Python advantageous.
- Experience collaborating with underwriting teams or other business partners.
