Job Description:This role contributes to AXIS’ collective success through maintaining and promoting a market leading claims service to support clients’ complex risks and challenges and in so doing to support the retention and acquisition of business.
- Handle under the supervision of senior claims handlers General Liability (GL) and Medical Malpractice (Med Mal) claims allocated to you as well as claims for other liability classes, for a wide variety of commercial clients written in the International Professional Lines Division, reporting into the PI & Liability Claims Manager.
- Facilitate and support the management of new claims notifications for the above lines, including managing notifications via the Claims Portal and ECF (for Lloyd’s Syndicate as well as IUA and company claims).
- Triage new notifications to the relevant GL and Med Mal claims handlers and appoint Loss Adjusters, TPAs and lawyers where required.
- Liaise with the Claims Operations team to set up new notifications on the relevant claim platforms and generate loss runs and claims experiences for brokers and underwriters.
- Work closely with TPA service providers, external legal advisors, market leaders and brokers ensuring a premier claims service to clients is maintained.
- Engage with other stakeholders, including claims operations, underwriters, actuaries and Internal Audit in relation to claims information, MI and other projects to elevate claims performance.
- Educated to at least A level.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Be numerate, analytical/solution focused and able to work to a deadline.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships.
- Ability to multi-task and manage conflicting priorities to tight timelines.
- Ability to prioritise and organise workload.
- Be accurate with good attention to detail.

- Be a team player, keen to assist and support colleagues.
- Having previously worked in a syndicate, company or a broker is an advantage but not essential.
- Experience with Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
