Data and analytics are critical to AXIS’s strategy of becoming the recognized leader in specialty underwriting. As Data Insights Lead, you will play a pivotal role in transforming data into actionable intelligence, empowering our teams to make confident decisions, uncover new opportunities, and drive operational excellence. This role is central to our mission to:

As Data Insights Lead, you will be at the forefront of redefining how data is transformed into insight, and how insight drives action. You will help design the next generation of data-driven and AI-enabled decision-making, unlocking faster, smarter, and more predictive insights that give AXIS a competitive edge. You will be part of the team that acts as the bridge between business ambition and data innovation, translating complex needs into scalable, intelligent data solutions. Working closely with D&A, AI, and technology teams, you will play a key role in shaping how data is consumed, trusted, and operationalized across AXIS.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a Strategic Connector - Build deep relationships with stakeholders to understand priorities and shape high-impact solutions. Influence the direction of the data transformation program to ensure it delivers meaningful business outcomes.
• Build the Future of Data Products - Design and deliver next-generation data products including datasets, dashboards, and self-service tools, that are intuitive, scalable, and insight-rich. Leverage modern data platforms and AI capabilities to move beyond traditional reporting into augmented and predictive insights.
• Lead AI-Enabled Insight Design - Support the design of AI agents and AI-enhanced workflows, translating business needs into practical, trusted solutions. Champion the use of AI to improve speed, accuracy, and decision quality across the business.
• Inspire Through Insight - Guide teams in creating compelling, intuitive visualizations that don’t just inform but drive action. Raise the bar for how insights are communicated, ensuring clarity, consistency, and impact.
• Set Standards for Excellence - Establish best practices across data interpretation, metric design, and reporting standards. Ensure outputs are consistent, high-quality, and aligned to enterprise governance.
• Collaborate Across D&A - Work closely with architecture, engineering, and governance teams to ensure seamless alignment from data foundation through to insight consumption. Reduce manual workarounds and help build a modern, scalable data and AI ecosystem.

About You

Required Experience & Skills

• Proven experience in data and analytics roles within the (Re)Insurance industry.
• Experience in design and implementation of data transformation projects.
• Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience working with technical teams.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, actionable insight.
• Deep understanding of insurance data and the MI needs of functional teams including Underwriting, Actuarial, Claims and Finance.
• Expertise in designing impactful reports, visualizations and self-service data tools.
• Strong and active interest in AI and emerging technologies, with a curiosity to experiment and apply them to real business challenges.
• Familiarity with current data visualization tools and technologies (e.g., Power BI).
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in US, Bermuda, and UK insurance markets.
• Strong knowledge of AI data tools and applications in insurance.
• Hands-on experience with Power BI and other visualization platforms.
