What the role contributes:
This role supports AXIS’ success by maintaining a market‑leading claims service that helps clients manage complex risks, supporting retention and acquisition of business.
Responsibilities:
- Handle personal injury and property damage claims in general liability and medical malpractice, and other liability/PI classes for a variety of professions and commercial clients in the non‑US Professional Lines Division.
- Collaborate with clients, market leaders, brokers, TPA service providers and external legal advisors to deliver premier claims service.
- Lead claims from first advice to final settlement, including coverage and liability analysis, reserve evaluation, resolution strategy, and liaison with risk managers, in‑house counsel and experts.
- Supervised by the GL & Med Mal Claims Lead.
- Handle Lloyd’s Syndicate, IUA and company claims.
- Coordinate with underwriters on wording/policy issues, provide claims information and attend client meetings.
- Engage stakeholders—including claims operations, underwriters, actuaries and internal audit—to improve claims performance.
What you need to have:
- Experience with personal injury and/or medical malpractice claims in a claims lead or legal advisory role.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to present clearly in meetings.
- Strong relationship‑building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritise and organise workload effectively.
- Sound judgment in complex claim situations.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in a syndicate, company or broker environment.
- Knowledge of CLASS/ECF2.
- Proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Legal or professional qualification (e.g., ACII).
