We are working with an established manufacturer of high-performance motion control technology company based in Gloucestershire, UK.
They are recruiting for an Automation Support Engineer to join their team, with the potential to become a Team Lead.
In return for a salary in the region £40.000 - £50.000 along with excellent employment benefits.
Applications are welcome from engineers with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in industrial machine automation.
Key Responsibilities include
- Provision of technical support to existing customers via multiple media channels
- Support and training of in-house and external applications engineers
- Enabling communication between customers and development (R&D) teams
- Production of technical documentation and communications
- Work with customers to create world-class technical solutions using Client’s products
- Work closely with our R&D throughout the product development cycle, to ensure product needs align with our customer feedback
Requirements
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Mechatronic or Electronic engineering
- Ability to understand Drives parameters
- Modify Drives software
- Ability to communicate ideas clearly, both verbally and in writing
- Understanding of customer requirements including typical manufacturing processes
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to produce technical documentation to a professional standard
- A valid passport ensuring unrestricted travel to and from the UK - responsibilities may require domestic and international travel
- A valid UK driving licence
Desirable Requirements
- Experience using stand-alone automation systems: e. g. PLC or Motion Controller.
- Knowledge of a programming language; for example: C, BASIC, Python.
- Programming with the standard IEC61131-3 languages.
- Application and configuration of Industrial Robots.
- Servo and/ or Stepper drives and motors.
- Using real-time deterministic networks, e. g. Ether CAT, Sercos, Can Open, Profinet RT.
- Programming and configuration of touch-screen HMIs
- Practical experience of electrical interfacing between devices in an automation system.
This position is commutable from: Gloucester, Tewkesbury, Worcester, Cheltenham and Evesham.
