Technical Service Engineer Location: Maidstone, Kent Salary: £45K – £50K (DOE) + Company Vehicle / Half Day Fridays Shift: Days Industry: Industrial Manufacturer Company Description: A leading manufacturer of safety critical equipment is seeking a Technical Service Engineer to join their team. This role will involve some UK and overseas travel. The rest of the time will be office based. Responsibilities as Technical Service Engineer: * Identify equipment failures and root cause to provide a swift solution. * Investigate reported technical issues, setting up lab trials to replicate and isolate the fault as necessary. * Provide remote assistance where appropriate. * Generate leads from service visits for the Business Development team. * Ensure inventory of tools and parts required are always maintained and requested on time. * Create internal technical documentation recording design/test decisions. * Help production engineering staff create initial BOMs for new products. * Support and control aspects of sales, production & service. * Conduct field trails of new equipment with customers. * Provide customers with technical expertise. * Document all works conducted. Requirements as Technical Service Engineer: * Demonstrable knowledge of metallurgy / materials science (how different materials interact and behave) * Experience in field service – Installation, service and repair of equipment on clients’ sites * Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
