Axion Consultancy Ltd is a specialist fire safety business within the Riskhub Group, delivering fire engineering strategies, fire risk assessments, compliance inspections, and digital compliance management solutions to housing associations, local authorities, and building stock managers across the UK. Together, the two business units provide an end‑to‑end fire safety offering — from design‑stage fire engineering through to ongoing occupancy compliance — supported by the Riskhub SaaS platform. This is a commercially driven, client‑facing environment where sector knowledge, strong relationships, and a proactive approach to business growth are essential.

Key Responsibilities
- New Business Generation: Proactively identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities for Axion Consultancy Ltd. Build and manage a robust sales pipeline using HubSpot CRM, from initial lead through to contract close. Develop and execute targeted outreach strategies to engage housing associations, local authorities, property managers, developers, and building owners. Respond to inbound enquiries, RFPs, and tender opportunities, preparing compelling proposals and presentations. Attend and represent Axion at industry conferences, trade shows, exhibitions, and networking events across the fire safety and built environment sectors. Build visibility and brand awareness for Axion and the Riskhub Group within target markets. Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes (e.g. Building Safety Act, Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order) to identify emerging opportunities.
- Relationship Development: Develop and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients, positioning Axion as a trusted partner for fire safety and compliance. Engage senior decision‑makers including Directors of Property, Building Safety Managers, and Heads of Compliance at target organisations. Work closely with the Group Client Services team to identify cross‑sell and upsell opportunities within the existing client base.
- Commercial & Strategic Contribution: Contribute to the development of Axion's commercial strategy and annual sales targets. Provide market intelligence and client feedback to inform service development and pricing strategies. Maintain accurate records of all business development activity, pipeline status, and forecasting within HubSpot CRM. Prepare regular reports on pipeline performance, conversion rates, and revenue forecasts for senior leadership. Work with Axion Fire Engineering and Axion Compliance delivery teams to ensure a smooth transition from sales to service delivery. Collaborate with the marketing function to develop collateral, case studies, and content that supports business development activity. Coordinate with the Executive Account Manager to ensure new client onboarding is well‑planned and expectations are clearly set.
Qualifications
- Demonstrable track record in B2B business development or sales, ideally within fire safety, building compliance, construction consultancy, or a related built environment sector.
- Strong knowledge of the UK fire safety landscape, including relevant legislation such as the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, the Building Safety Act 2022, and associated standards.
- Understanding of the built environment sector, including the challenges facing housing associations, local authorities, and property managers.
- Experience managing the full sales cycle from lead generation through to contract negotiation and close.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage confidently at senior and executive level.
- Skilled in CRM management (HubSpot preferred) and pipeline reporting.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify opportunities, qualify leads, and articulate value propositions.
- Self‑motivated, target‑driven, and comfortable working autonomously in a field‑based role.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
- Hold a full UK driving licence and are willing to travel nationally as required.
- Existing network of contacts within housing associations, local authorities, or the wider social housing and property compliance sectors.
- Membership of or familiarity with relevant industry bodies (e.g. IFE, FIA, RICS, CIH).
- Experience selling SaaS or technology‑enabled services alongside consultancy offerings.
