This position is responsible for supporting the design, configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of network hardware, systems, and software. It includes preparing documentation for future reference and ensuring timely communication regarding network security and other issues.
Essential Duties:
- Develop and implement detailed logical designs in areas such as routing and switching, network security and firewalls, multicast architecture, MPLS, and SD-WAN (preferably).
- Develop secure network designs, maximizing the usage of routers and switches.
- Analyze traffic behaviors, identify, and resolve congestion or traffic issues.
- Establish procedures and best practices for data backups and disaster recovery operations.
- Monitor network performance and determine necessary adjustments and future changes.
- Collaborate with internal and external customers to fill information gaps and communicate architecture, technical solutions, and DC audits.
- Work closely with the HQ Network team, updating the HLD and LLDs as needed, with hands-on experience in MS-Visio.
- Manage lifecycle activities like patching, firmware and OS upgrades, and hardware refresh.
- Understand and support DC compute, storage, and backup hardware.
- Possess knowledge of Azure and AWS cloud connectivity options such as Cloud Exchange, ExpressRoute, or Direct Connect.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- CCNP certification in routing and switching, Service Provider, or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of experience, preferably in a financial services environment.
- Ability to design, deploy, and maintain MPLS, VPN, and VRF network cores.
- Experience with Cisco devices is mandatory; Juniper and Palo Alto experience is preferred.
- Strong understanding of OSPF, BGP, SR, and IS-IS routing protocols.
- Experience with Cisco NXOS, IOS, IOS-XE, and IOS-XR.
- Knowledge of industry-standard network design and implementation.
- Understanding of security and communication networks; knowledge of PC environments is a plus.
- Preferred experience with TACACS+, RADIUS, DNS, DHCPv4, DHCPv6, or IPAM/DDI.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution, confidentiality, and effective listening.
