Are you a hands‑on maintenance professional who takes pride in keeping buildings, systems and facilities operating safely and effectively?

We’re looking for an experienced Maintenance Manager to join the leadership team at Hilton Belfast.

This is an important role within the hotel.

You’ll take ownership of the day-to-day maintenance operation, ensuring our hotel is safe, compliant, well maintained and looking its best for our guests and team members.

The Role

As Maintenance Manager, you’ll lead the hotel’s maintenance function, balancing planned preventative maintenance with the day-to-day demands of a busy hotel environment.

Your role

The role requires someone who will be hands‑on with repair and general maintenance.

You will meet time deadlines, liaise with contractors and take responsibility for health and safety on the property.

The right candidate, therefore, must be organised, a good communicator, and a hands‑on manager.

You’ll be responsible for

  • Leading and coordinating the hotel maintenance function and maintenance team
  • Ensuring planned preventative maintenance programmes are effectively delivered
  • Responding to maintenance issues and prioritising repairs to minimise disruption to guests and operations
  • Maintaining high standards across guest bedrooms, public areas and back‑of‑house facilities
  • Supporting the hotel’s statutory, health & safety and fire safety compliance requirements
  • Managing contractors and external service providers
  • Monitoring maintenance expenditure and supporting effective budget management
  • Maintaining appropriate maintenance records, checks and documentation
  • Identifying opportunities to improve energy efficiency, equipment reliability and operating costs
  • Working closely with the General Manager, Heads of Department and wider hotel team
  • Supporting hotel projects, refurbishments and capital works where required
  • Developing a proactive maintenance culture focused on prevention rather than reaction

To be successful in this role, you should have

  • Previous experience within a maintenance, facilities or engineering environment
  • Strong practical knowledge of building maintenance and associated systems
  • Experience of managing planned and reactive maintenance activities
  • A good understanding of health & safety and statutory compliance within a building or facilities environment
  • The ability to diagnose problems, prioritise effectively and coordinate appropriate solutions
  • Experience of working with and managing external contractors
  • Strong organisational and record‑keeping skills
  • Good communication skills with the ability to work effectively with operational managers and colleagues
  • A hands‑on, solutions‑focused approach and the ability to respond effectively to operational issues
  • Flexibility to support the needs of a 24/7 hospitality operation when required

It would be great if you also have

  • Previous maintenance or engineering experience within a hotel or hospitality environment
  • Previous supervisory or management experience
  • A recognised qualification in an engineering, electrical, mechanical, plumbing or building‑services discipline
  • Experience of managing maintenance budgets and controlling costs
  • Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS)
  • Experience of energy management and sustainability initiatives
  • Experience coordinating refurbishment or capital expenditure projects
  • Knowledge of fire safety systems and associated compliance requirements

You must have the right to work in the UK to be eligible for this role. Documented evidence of eligibility will be required from all candidates prior to commencing employment.
