Salary and Benefits (snapshot)
The salary banding for this role is £65,000 – £85,000 based on experience.

The Role
In your role as a Solutions Architect, you will be working alongside other Architects, delivery teams, and with key business stakeholders to develop the system architecture for complex solutions.
- Be responsible for logical and implementation solution architecture(s) and related projects providing ongoing architectural guidance & design leadership
- Work with key business stakeholders to understand business priorities and requirements, leveraging your analytical and technical expertise to produce architectural designs that meet those needs
- Navigate technical, financial and operational factors, integrating this into thinking, proposals and plans
- Communicates effectively with business and technical stakeholders, delivering within own area of responsibility in keeping with product/programme strategy & direction.
- Assures delivery of business outcomes through the delivery of functioning solutions working closely with delivery teams to realise your designs
- Adapt own approach to complex, challenging and low clarity environments
- Research and establish best practice in own areas of expertise, producing articulate models & designs describing architectures & solutions which are accessible to a wide stakeholder audience
- Ensure that security, regulatory and compliance needs are met throughout
Essentials
- You have used your experience in digital, agile, and product-centric environments to create roadmaps and architecture models, lead technology selection, and to continuously improve ecosystems.
- You maintain appropriate quality in response to ongoing change and are capable of optimising and refining technical designs throughout the lifecycle – balancing risk, impact, and complexity.
- You listen to and interpret the needs of technical and business stakeholders, supporting when there may be difficult discussions across diverse stakeholders.
- You are comfortable dealing with ambiguity, complexity and potentially significant organisational impacts.
- Experience as an architect, solution designer or technical designer with engineering teams
- Deep experience in multiple technical domains and/or technologies, ideally in a solution delivery environment

- You actively expand your technical knowledge through the use of online forums, user groups and your wider network
- You have developed a broad set of skills (delivery leadership, design, analysis etc) from across other digital delivery professions that you can leverage to improve your own effectiveness
- You have experience with design frameworks such as TOGAF, Archimate & UML and with design tools such as Sparx EA, BizzDesign or Visio/Draw.io
- You’re able to bring experience across multiple industries and their operating environments into each solution improving your ability to design in keeping with themes such as specific regulation or standards.
Interview Stages
This will be a two-stage interview process (not including a screening call with our Talent team). First stage is virtual or face to face in our offices in Leeds. The second stage will be face to face. We hope to make an offer within a month of starting the process. Our Talent team will keep you updated on timelines throughout the process.
