The Role

In your role as an Architect, you will be working alongside other Architects, delivery teams, and with key business stakeholders to develop the system architecture for complex solutions, contributing to the consulting analysis and advice we give our clients.

Your typical workload will be split between working hands-on within a delivery team and contributing to client-side engagements — discovery work, assessments and options appraisals that clients act on.

We expect you to be comfortable in a varied role and to build understanding across many disciplines, working alongside practitioners in user-centric design, product and platform-centric agile delivery and AI enabled engineering.

This is a role for someone who wants to grow fast. You will work under the guidance of Senior and Principal Architects, with a tailored development plan, funded certifications and deliberate exposure to new sectors, technologies and client cultures.

As you progress you will start coaching technical designers and less experienced colleagues.

Because we are a consultancy, how you work with people matters as much as what you design. You will spend your time building relationships with client stakeholders, listening carefully, handling challenge well and explaining technical decisions to non-technical audiences.

Essentials

· Be responsible for the architecture and design of defined systems and workstreams, providing ongoing architectural guidance to the teams delivering them

· Contribute to consulting outputs; current state assessments, options appraisals, target architectures and roadmaps a client can act on after the engagement ends

· Work with key business stakeholders to understand business priorities and requirements, leveraging your analytical and technical expertise to produce architectural designs that meet those needs

· Navigate technical, financial and operational factors, integrating this into thinking, proposals and plans

· Communicate effectively and build trusted working relationships with business and technical stakeholders, adapting how you explain things to the audience in front of you, and delivering within your own area of responsibility in keeping with product/programme strategy & direction

· Work effectively within local governance and assurance, submitting and refining designs to ensure compliance with standards

· Operate semi-autonomously within your area of responsibility and deliver work to high levels of quality, with guidance and support from Axiologik and/or client lead(s), agreeing and working to clear objectives

· Work consultatively inside client organisations, building rapport and credibility quickly in unfamiliar teams, cultures and environments

· Adapt own approach to complex, challenging and low clarity environments

· Actively grow your skills beyond architecture disciplines; across user-centric design, product and platform-centric agile delivery and AI enabled engineering

· Transfer knowledge to client teams as you work, leaving them better able to carry the work forward

· Research and establish best practice in own areas of expertise, producing articulate models & designs describing architectures & solutions which are accessible to a wide stakeholder audience

· Ensure that client security, regulatory and compliance needs are met throughout

Within Axiologik we contribute to the growth of our business. You will also typically;

· Support the development of services for the Architecture practice

· Collaborate across our business, providing support on new offerings & new business development

Representing Axiologik, the practice and yourself you will

· Participate in industry forums and events, expanding your existing industry knowledge

· Seek to develop your technical skill set, pursuing certification and other development opportunities including in a specialisation (e.g. data, cloud, AI) if that is your choice

Desirables

We don't expect every candidate to bring all of the following. We'd encourage you to apply if much of this applies;

· Experience operating as an Architect, technical designer, engineering or data lead, ideally in a consulting or multi-client context

· Experience working directly with clients or internal stakeholders with delivered outcomes you can talk us through

· Strong communication skills, with examples of explaining technical decisions to non-technical audiences and building trust quickly in new teams

· A clear appetite for rapid development — certifications gained, disciplines picked up, or moves outside your comfort zone you have chosen to make

· Working knowledge of industry-standard software packages or SaaS offerings (CRM, ERP, IDAM), cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and infrastructure

· Experience of agile, product and platform-centric delivery

· Exposure to regulated, safety-critical or critical national infrastructure environments

· Degree education and/or professional qualifications and accreditations relevant to your domain expertise

Interview Stages

This will be a two-stage interview process (not including a screening call with our Talent team). First stage is virtual or face to face in our offices in Leeds. The second stage will be face to face. We hope to make an offer within a month of starting the process. Our Talent team will keep you updated on timelines throughout the process.
