What you’ll do
- Media relations: Own media relationships with consumer technology, lifestyle and national press, be the go‑to in the team for the press we need to speak to, build on existing relationships and establish new ones. You’ll have a good bank of contacts and want to grow this further.
- Writing: Write press releases, media pitches and develop smart content for clients. Tell stories that media will love and clients will sign off.
- Client communications: Build relationships with clients, speak to them regularly as the main point of contact on specific projects, join weekly calls and proactively update them on activity. Acting as one team with clients.
- Proactivity: Spot media opportunities, cultural trends and points of interest for clients, identify ways to creatively solve problems and contribute proactively to accounts.
- Account organisation: Keep accounts organised, update clients regularly, be aware and proactive in keeping account leads updated.
- Media interest: Foster interest in the UK media landscape by following relevant journalists, reading media relevant to clients and sharing with teams.
- Team player: Play an active and helpful part in client teams and broader Axicom initiatives, demonstrate effective time management and act as an agency ambassador.
Experience that contributes to success
- Established early career PR experience, two years or more across consumer lifestyle or consumer technology sectors.
- Strong interest in the UK consumer technology landscape and UK media.
- Proven ability to execute and manage media sell‑ins, work on multiple clients and strong interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to juggle multiple tasks at any one time and excellent time‑management skills.
- Solid writing skills with experience in press materials.
- Energetic and passionate about PR & communications.
- High levels of intelligence, initiative and integrity, with ambition to create award‑winning work.
