The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Piping Designer to join our dynamic Engineering Team. The Piping Designer will be responsible for delivering technical solutions across a range of projects and technical areas, on time and budget and in accordance with all relevant engineering and company procedures. The Piping Designer will be competent across a wide range of fields commensurate with the systems they are working on. The Piping Designer will undertake technical reviews of projects, working with other discipline Engineers and the Procurement, Commercial and Construction Departments, to ensure that the technical solutions being delivered offer the best solution to the business.

Job Details:

  • Deliver technical solutions across a range of projects and technical areas on time and budget and in accordance with all relevant engineering and company procedures.
  • Bring developments in best practice, technology, and legislation to the attention of the business.
  • Undertake technical reviews of projects, working with other discipline Engineers and the Procurement, Commercial and Construction Departments, to ensure that the technical solutions being delivered offer the best solution to the client and the business.
  • Demonstrate full understanding of and adherence to all relevant engineering procedures, policies and standards, and their practical application.
  • Inform Project Manager/Line Manager of potential project risks identified in a timely manner.
  • Work within the ISO 9001 quality systems.
  • Adhere to business and client Health & Safety procedures.
  • Comply with and work to relevant procedures and standards, to meet the required level of quality in all outputs.
  • Zero non-conformances to all company, client and project specific quality and safety plans.
  • Adhere to PPE requirements, where applicable, and be responsible for own safety at work.
  • Keep up to date with latest industry standards and technology.
  • Be familiar with all relevant engineering and design software, with a good understanding of the availability and use of all relevant electronic tools and software.

Experience:

  • An experienced Designer with knowledge of piping designs, specifications and selection.
  • Experience with 2D and 3D modelling and the related software.
  • HVAC specification and design awareness.
  • Welding, NDE and Heat Treatment Methods awareness.
  • Technical knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, guidelines, systems and processes.
  • Able to build effective working relationships at all levels.
  • Can communicate skills, knowledge, and experience and apply them professionally, to explain ideas and technical information and discuss and resolve technical issues.
