Axi Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a leading renewables client to support with the hiring of a Technical Sales Engineer. You will be responsible for driving technical sales to clients, with a primary focus on large-scale heat pumps and related systems.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct site surveys and technical assessments to determine client requirements for heat pump solutions or other renewable energy technology.
  2. Develop customised solutions for district heating and industrial applications, including heat load calculations, system sizing, and feasibility studies.
  3. Collaborate with Engineering Teams to ensure technical accuracy and feasibility of proposed solutions.
  4. Identify and qualify prospective customers in target industries such as utilities, manufacturing, and public sector organisations.
  5. Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including decision-makers, Technical Teams, and procurement professionals.
  6. Present technical and financial value propositions to clients, highlighting the energy efficiency, sustainability, and cost benefits of heat pump systems.
  7. Prepare detailed technical proposals, including system schematics, equipment specifications, and cost estimates supported by the wider engineering function.
  8. Collaborate with Finance Teams to structure competitive pricing models and ROI analyses.
  9. Lead contract negotiations, addressing technical and commercial terms to close deals.
  10. Work closely with our key suppliers to source appropriate heat pump models and related components.
  11. Liaise with project partners, including principal contractors, consultants, and regulators, to ensure smooth project execution.
  12. Stay updated on the latest advancements in heat pump technology and energy policy.
  13. Coordinate with Project Managers for a seamless handover of sold systems, ensuring clear communication of project timelines and deliverables.
  14. Provide post-sale technical support, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  15. Deliver customer training sessions on system operation and maintenance.
  16. Identify emerging opportunities in district heating, process industries, and industrial applications.
  17. Contribute to sales strategies, product positioning, and promotional activities.
  18. Generate regular reports for management on sales performance, pipeline development, and market insights.

Qualifications:

  1. A degree in an Engineering discipline or similar qualification.

Experience:

  1. At least 3 years of experience in Technical Sales, Engineering, or Project Management in the renewable energy or HVAC sector.
  2. Strong knowledge of heat pump technology, thermodynamics, and district heating systems is preferred.
  3. Strong interpersonal skills for client engagement and relationship management.
  4. Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently, at varying project stages.
  5. Ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
  6. Awareness of regulatory frameworks and sustainability standards.
  7. Ability to analyse complex energy requirements and design efficient, innovative solutions.
