Axel Monroe is hiring its first Recruitment Consultant to join the business. This is an opportunity to join a growing executive finance recruitment firm at an early stage and work directly alongside the founder to help build the business. Our belief is simple: recruitment should be built on relationships, honesty and genuine market expertise. Founded in 2023, Axel Monroe is an executive finance recruitment firm focused on quality, delivery and long-term relationships. We partner with organisations across the UK and internationally to secure senior finance professionals - from CFOs and Finance Directors through to interim leadership hires - while working closely with candidates in our network to represent them properly in the market.

We are now looking to hire our first Recruitment Consultant to join the business as we continue to grow. For the right person, this is more than just another recruitment role. It is an opportunity to develop a desk within a growing executive search firm and play a meaningful role in building the business.

The Role: This is a 360 recruitment role, where you will develop the full set of skills required to run a successful desk. You will be involved across the entire recruitment lifecycle - from developing candidate relationships through to building client partnerships and delivering successful search processes. You will work closely with the founder while developing your own network within the senior finance market.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Building and developing relationships with senior finance professionals across the market
  • Conducting detailed candidate meetings to understand experience, motivations and career objectives
  • Mapping finance markets and identifying high-calibre talent for senior-level opportunities
  • Supporting executive search processes for CFO and senior finance leadership roles
  • Developing new client relationships and identifying hiring needs within the finance function
  • Managing end-to-end recruitment processes from initial brief through to offer and placement
  • Representing candidates professionally and accurately throughout the recruitment journey
  • Providing clients with market insight, talent mapping and guidance on hiring strategy
  • Maintaining consistent communication with both clients and candidates throughout recruitment processes
  • Contributing to the continued development and growth of the Axel Monroe network

Over time, you will be expected to build and develop your own desk, establishing long-term relationships with both clients and senior finance professionals within your market.

What We’re Looking For: We are looking for someone who understands that recruitment is fundamentally about people and relationships. The ideal candidate will bring:

  • A strong academic background or early career experience within a sales or professional environment
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills
  • A high level of emotional intelligence and proven ability of operating with empathy
  • A proactive and organised approach to work
  • Confidence interacting with senior professionals
  • A high standard of candidate and client service
  • Ambition to build a successful desk within a growing business

Equally important is mindset. We want individuals who take pride in their work and understand that reputation in recruitment is built over time. This role will suit someone who is motivated by the opportunity to help build a business, rather than simply work within one.

Why Join Axel Monroe:

  • Join the business as employee number one and play a meaningful role in its growth
  • Work directly with a founder with 12 years’ experience in executive finance recruitment
  • Exposure to senior finance and executive search processes
  • Clear opportunity to build your own desk and develop your career
  • Highly competitive uncapped commission structure
  • Help shape the culture and future direction of a growing recruitment firm

At Axel Monroe, we believe recruitment should be done properly - with transparency, strong relationships and a focus on long-term results. If that approach resonates with you, we would be keen to hear from you.
