We are seeking an enthusiastic, team-oriented Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our team at Axe Valley Vets on a part-time basis. Join Axe Valley Vets, a well-equipped and progressive veterinary group with a friendly, supportive team. We offer a wide range of diagnostic and clinical facilities, including endoscopy, ultrasonography, digital radiography (including dental), and an in-house laboratory. Located in rural Somerset, our practices are surrounded by beautiful countryside, with scenic walks in Blackford and easy access to the coast at Weston.

Our team currently includes 9 Veterinary Surgeons (with certificate holders in medicine and surgery), 8 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 3 Student Veterinary Nurses, 2 Animal Nursing Assistants, and 18 dedicated support staff. How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering high-quality nursing care to patients while supporting excellent client experiences. You’ll work collaboratively with veterinary surgeons and the wider practice team, taking responsibility for the nursing care of a range of first opinion cases, contributing to clinical standards, and supporting the ongoing development of patient care within the practice. The role will involve working across multiple sites, 32 hours a week, but we can be flexible for the right candidate. Shifts are 8 hours per day, 4 days per week, ranging from 7 am to 7 pm with a 1-hour unpaid lunch break. We offer an attractive weekend rota; 1 in 9 at our Blackford branch; 8:30 am-1 pm Saturday and 8:30 am-10:30 am on Sunday, both days include being on call until 7 pm. Weekend shifts are paid on top of the normal salary. Well-behaved dogs are welcome to come to work, too.
