About the Role

As a Learning Support Assistant (LSA), you will work with students across Key Stages 3 and 4, providing tailored support both inside and outside the classroom. You will deliver a combination of 1:1 support and small group interventions, helping students overcome barriers to learning while building confidence, independence, and resilience. Working closely with teachers, the SEND department, and pastoral teams, you will play an important role in ensuring every student can access education and thrive in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 support and small group interventions for students with additional learning needs.
  • Assist students with accessing the curriculum and engaging in classroom activities.
  • Support pupils with SEND, social, emotional, and behavioural needs where required.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and personal development.
  • Adapt learning activities under the guidance of teaching staff.
  • Build strong, positive relationships and act as a trusted role model for students.
  • Collaborate effectively with teachers, SEND professionals, pastoral staff, and families.
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding, inclusion, and student welfare.

Requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people in education, care, coaching, youth work, or a similar setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
