Are you passionate about helping young people build confidence, develop life skills and enjoy positive experiences? Do you enjoy sport, outdoor activities or supporting young people to reach their potential? We are looking for a Youth Mental Health Support Worker to join a specialist education setting in Tewkesbury, supporting students aged 11–16 with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.

About the role

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference without needing a background in teaching. You will support students through enrichment activities, sport and pastoral care, helping them build trust, develop social skills and feel more confident in themselves. You will encourage participation, promote positive behaviour and help create a safe, supportive environment where every student feels valued and able to succeed. The school offers a nurturing and personalised learning environment for young people who need additional support. Its most recent Ofsted inspection in July 2025 rated the school Good across all areas. Inspectors praised the trusting relationships between staff and students, the high expectations for behaviour and the school's ambition for students' academic and personal development.

Who would suit this role?

  • Patient, approachable and able to build positive relationships.
  • Passionate about helping young people overcome challenges.
  • Enthusiastic about sport, enrichment and practical activities.
  • Calm, encouraging and consistent when things get difficult.
  • Committed to helping every student feel included and supported.

What's on offer?

  • Full-time hours, 9am–2pm.
  • An immediate start in a rewarding education role.
  • The opportunity to secure a permanent position after 12 weeks.
  • Valuable experience in pastoral support, SEMH and youth mental health.

If you want to make a positive difference to young people's lives, we would love to hear from you. This is a temporary position, unless stated otherwise.
