Teaching Assistant (Arabic Speaking)
Axcis Education are working in partnership with a highly regarded primary school in Birmingham, to recruit a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils with communication needs.
This is an exciting opportunity for a SEND Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant (LSA) with experience in speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN) who is looking to make a meaningful difference in a nurturing school environment.

- Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (8:30am – 4:00pm)
- Salary: £92.63 per day
The Role
- As a Teaching Assistant supporting speech and language needs, you will:
- Support children aged 4–11 in a primary school setting
- Work with pupils with speech, language, and communication difficulties (SLCN)
- Help develop communication, social, and language skills
- Use tools such as PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System) and Makaton
- Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
- Provide a calm, supportive classroom presence
- Work alongside teachers and SENCOs to deliver tailored interventions
Requirements
- To be successful in this SEND Teaching Assistant role, you should have:
- Previous experience supporting children with speech and language needs or SEND
- Fluent in Arabic
- Knowledge of communication strategies such as PECS, Makaton, or similar
- A patient, caring, and empathetic approach
- Strong ability to build meaningful relationships with students
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
- Availability for full-time, long-term work (Monday–Friday)
