Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant Location: Salisbury Pay: £85-£95 per day Hours: 08:30 – 15:30, Monday to Friday (Full-Time) Start Date: January 2025 Are you a passionate Primary Teaching Assistant looking for an exciting new role in Salisbury? If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you! Axcis Education is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work in a mainstream primary school, starting in January. This is a full-time position, offering both general classroom support and 1:1 sessions with students who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). You will also lead literacy sessions for low-level students. For the right candidate, this role could become permanent. About the School: The school is committed to creating a safe, stimulating, and imaginative learning environment where every pupil is supported to reach their full potential. They aim to foster a lifelong love of learning, with a dedicated and nurturing team that strives to provide the best possible education for each child. Your Role: As a Teaching Assistant, you will: * Provide general classroom support, assisting the class teacher with day-to-day tasks and ensuring all students are included in learning activities. * Work with SEND students on a 1:1 basis, offering targeted support during lessons and facilitating sensory or brain breaks when needed. * Lead literacy sessions with low-level students, helping them improve reading, writing, and comprehension skills. * Be an integral part of the school community, helping all students to overcome learning barriers and engage positively with their education. The Ideal Candidate: We are looking for someone who is: * Motivated and has a positive attitude. * Patient, calm, and empathetic when working with students with additional needs. * Reliable, flexible, and able to use their initiative in various situations. * Experienced in SEN/SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) support – essential for this role. * Previous experience in education is preferred, and experience leading literacy sessions is a plus.
