Axcis Education is recruiting confident and academically strong Learning Support Assistants to work within a large mainstream secondary school in Dagenham, supporting students with SEND across KS3 and KS4. We are particularly interested in candidates with strong subject knowledge in areas such as English, Maths, Science, Humanities or Languages who can use that knowledge to help students understand lesson content, build confidence and make progress within the mainstream classroom. This is not simply a role where you sit beside one pupil throughout the day. The school is looking for proactive LSAs who can work across lessons, recognise when a student genuinely needs support and encourage them to become increasingly independent in their learning.

- Working within mainstream lessons alongside subject teachers
- Using your subject knowledge to help pupils understand challenging concepts and classroom tasks
- Providing 1:1 and small-group intervention where required
- Supporting pupils with needs including Autism, ADHD, dyslexia and mild to moderate learning difficulties
- Helping students develop organisation, focus and study skills
- Supporting pupils against individual EHCP targets and SEND strategies
- Encouraging confidence and independence rather than completing work for students
- Working closely with the school's SEND, inclusion and pastoral teams
About You
- Have strong academic knowledge in English, Maths, Science, Humanities, Languages or another secondary subject
- Have previous experience as an LSA, SEND TA, tutor or classroom support worker

- Understand when to step in and when to allow a student to work independently
- Can build positive relationships while maintaining clear professional boundaries
- Are proactive, reliable and comfortable working within a busy secondary environment
- Can commit to a full-time, long-term position
- Graduates and aspiring teachers with strong subject knowledge and relevant experience supporting young people are also encouraged to apply.
School & Location
The role is based within a large mainstream secondary school in Dagenham, with an established SEND and inclusion team supporting students across the curriculum. The school is easily accessible from Barking, Dagenham, Chadwell Heath, Romford, Ilford and surrounding East London areas.
