Learning Support mentor Axcis Education are proud to be recruiting exclusively alongside a large very well renowned and respected college in Stroud who are looking for a full-time Learning Support mentor to start asap and continue full time Monday to Friday 09.00-4.30 until the end of the academic year in the first instance.

About the Role

As a Learning Support mentor in the main college, you will be supporting across different departments and subject areas meaning no two days will be the same and in addition, you will:

  • Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to learners across different classrooms dependent on the needs of learners.
  • Work within different state of the art spaces such as hair and beauty areas / construction sites and bespoke outdoor provisions as well as going out in the community on trips / projects.
  • Help develop skills across the students individual curriculum, including Independence, Communication, Social and Emotional development, Sensory and Physical, and Cognition.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience supporting young adults with Autism, leraning difficulties or other SEND.
  • Is enthusiastic about helping children and young adults develop their independence, communication, and social skills.
  • Can create a nurturing and inclusive environment tailored to each child’s unique needs and interests.
  • Is adaptable, patient, and passionate about working with teenagers and young adults with SEND needs and disabilities.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) are desirable but not essential.

Working Hours

Full-time, Monday to Friday, term-time only 09.00-4.30

Salary / Pay Rate will be dependent on your skills and experience.
