We are recruiting for a dedicated Year 1 Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a pupil in a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Chorley. The child is fully accessing the mainstream classroom, has excellent academic potential, and would benefit from a committed and nurturing professional who can provide consistent support and encouragement throughout the school day.
The Role
- Provide tailored support to a Year 1 pupil within the classroom environment.
- Encourage engagement, independence, and confidence in learning.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to deliver planned interventions and support strategies.
- Build positive relationships with the pupil, staff, and parents where appropriate.
- Help create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in primary education or school settings.
- Experience with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
- Experience in residential care, support work, youth work, health and social care, or behaviour support roles.
To be successful, you will need:
- Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs.
- A patient, caring, and adaptable approach.
- Full UK Right to Work.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
