Axcis Education is seeking a personable and dedicated Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with speech and language needs. This opportunity would also suit a recent Speech and Language graduate or someone who has gained relevant experience through another profession. Based in Erdington, this welcoming and supportive school is committed to celebrating the successes of both students and staff. The school is passionate about providing children with opportunities to develop their knowledge and skills, helping them achieve their goals and reach their full potential. This is a full-time Teaching Assistant position starting in September, working Monday to Friday. The role involves supporting children with a range of complex needs. Successful candidates will receive a pay rate of £14.25 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Support children aged 4 to 11 years.
  • Work closely with pupils who have speech and language needs.
  • Deliver speech and language interventions.
  • Build positive, meaningful relationships with students.
  • Provide a calm and supportive presence within the classroom.
  • Assist children with varying complex needs to access learning and achieve their individual goals.

Requirements

  • Previous experience supporting children with speech and language needs.
  • A caring, patient, and empathetic nature.
  • The ability to foster positive and meaningful relationships with pupils.
  • An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or a willingness to obtain one.
  • Availability to work Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:00pm.
