About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and well-resourced special school in Loughton, Essex. This is a rewarding opportunity to support children and young people aged 3-19 with severe and profound learning difficulties and complex needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Support students with ASD, PMLD, SLD, and ADHD
- Assist with personal care, including hoisting and mobility support
- Manage and support challenging behaviour in a calm and patient manner
- Work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
Requirements
- Previous experience supporting SEND students (essential)
- Experience with ASD, PMLD, or complex needs (highly desirable)
- Confident supporting challenging behaviour
- Comfortable providing personal care
- Reliable, patient, and empathetic approach
